As you may have noticed, this morning UIT upgraded the central WordPress web publishing system. While most of the functionality remains the same, there are a number of significant visual changes to the admin interface. Complete details of the changes in 3.8 can be found at WordPress.org.

Most noticeable are the high-contrast admin pages. You can modify the colour scheme of the admin panel by editing your user profile. Click on your name/username in the top-right corner of the admin screen and try out the 8 new admin colour schemes. You can enable a number of additional settings such as keyboard shortcuts and whether or not to display the admin toolbar at the top of every page when you are logged in.

WordPress 3.8 now uses a responsive design, meaning that the admin screen will resize and flow to fit the screen size of your desktop, tablet of mobile device.
